Crow woodcut
Did this wood cut this morning first thing. It is a small print on brown paper, 3x5. It is a simple piece because I am learning!! Can't wait to make more, have an idea for trees next! Making some sketches.

OLIVES art tag
We have many olive groves in Paso Robles. Olive oil is pressed here. It is just wonderful. Along with the vinyards in a marvelous micro climate in this particular area. This tag is made from one of my paintings of "olives". Had to add a bee of course, beloved bees.

"LISTEN" decorative art tag
This is a new tag, just finished. An angel. I have so much fun with these. Hand painted and assembled.This is large, 11"x 51/2" I have several done that I will be adding soon. I have used lace and different papers that I have found and they are finished with a spray of gold and varnished with a mat gloss. Hope you like them!XO Susan

BIRDS nesting
We have so many birds flying through right now. Yesterday at Lynn's we watched as a mother and father bird flew back and forth feeding their new borns . The nest was right above our heads! Wonderful surprize!SOLD!

I think as I go these are going to get more lavish! I thought I would draw the line at lace but I am looking fondly at some sweet pieces I have collected thru the years.Jewels would be nice too, have put a few on some of the cards. It is amazing what we have just sitting in boxes and in our cupboards. At some point I will put these in the gallery but right now I am having a very good time learning as I go along. Yes, I am still painting and doing clay and what ever, idle hands you know!!

New Work
Good Morning!
It is a gorgeous morning here on the coast and I hope it is where you are too!
I am getting ready to go out to my studio and work. I have a commission in clay to start today and I also have some small pieces to make for the Chambers Gallery.
How ever, I feel an abstract coming on! Must not be deterred but I am inspired! I was reading this morning of something called Yupo. It is a plastic paper primarily used by watercolor artists. Have any of you painters out there experimented with it?
I did read of one artist who used oils on it, that is what I want to try.Apparently the paint doesn't absorb, it has a degree of difficulty because putting on layers isn't possible! It just moves what is already underneath! That can be frustrating to say the least!There must be a drying technique...hair dryer for water color...well anyway, that is my next experiment!
Please let me know if you have tried it, I would love to have your input!

TREES
5x7 a/p Abstracted painting of trees. This is a study for a large painting I will be attempting. I am thinking I will paint it in oil altho this was done with acrylics. You get a much different look with acrylic, it is a fun medium. SOLD!Tuesday, November 20
Rooster water color
6x71/2 watercolor on paperYes, I am having fun with the roosters! They have such personality and I love to sketch and paint them. Almost over this, going back to my oils soon!
