8"x10" oil painting on canvas. This is after Edward Potthast . 1857-1929
I love to paint impressionism. I learned it by looking at paintings like this. Wonderful training. I love Potthast , the paintings of children at the sea shore. I painted this on an 8"x10" canvas as it was one of his favorite sizes. Mine too!

The essence of summer!
Hi Erin!!
Thank you so much, I'm so glad you like it!!
xx Susan
Susan you have done an excellent recreation...I love his work, also...light and airy.....if anyone could execute his style and coloring it is you. It is fun to try to emulate an artist one admires....I have done a few smaller van Gogh's...really impossible, but fun nevertheless....he had no money other than what his brother sent him, yet he used GOBS of paint on all his paintings....amazing!
