Hand made and painted tiles from earthenware clay. 4"x4". I used to have a tile business. I started out that way. I painted for homes, doing murals, backsplashes, fireplace surrounds. BELLA BUTTERFLY

10 1/4 " x10 1/4"  mosaic butterfly. Cut out of clay and fired then embellished with vintage and antique shards.  Shand painted pieces complete the design. This was fun!!!

COVE , LOW TIDE

30x40 oil on canvas      We have a beautiful cove in San Simeon. It's part of Hearst Ranch History. I've walked this many times, painted this from memory. The caves are teeming with life, starfish,muscles,anemones, and watch out , maybe a big sea lion in the back!

WORK SHOP in SAN LUIS!!

Summer Straw

I've been experimenting! I found some Cray-Pas in a drawer that I had long forgotten about. Cray-Pas are oil painting sticks. I thought it would be fun to use them both, brush and painting stick in a painting and it was! I've been wanting to paint some faces in a loose style and as fun as this was it takes me back to my doll painting days....I'm going to work on this!!!!

Pique Assiette

A change of pace. Working on my hearts and crosses in the studio for the Chambers Gallery in Cambria. These are tiny, 2" to 4" . A couple more and they are ready to grout! Fun to make, on my clay base.

My o my! Holly Hocks are in bloom and I just had to post them!! I planted them from seeds I gathered in a friends garden and I am so excited to see them come up! There are some peachy colored ones I'm hoping to see soon and a sort of soft yellow. These are tall and just beautiful!

SEA SCAPE on COPPER

4"x4" oil painting on copper. I've painted a sea scape on the copper with vertigres and in this case I've added a heart rock. Many years of beach combing in Cambria has enabled me to collect oodles of these beautifully shaped rocks. Including them in these new pieces I'm doing adds fun to the design!! The finished paintings will be nailed to the wood at each corner.

WINTER

30"x40" oil on canvas. Something different, hard for me not to paint on orange and color! I wanted to keep it simple. Not too stark, added some browns and blues with oil crayons. Very fun to paint!!

LAND SCAPE on BRASS

6"x6" oil painting on brass with verdigris. I'm experimenting on different metals. I like the brass for the gold color that appears in the painting. After the verdigris very little of the brass shown through. There are peeks of it here and there. The subject matter is loose and almost abstract.

LAND SCAPE on COPPER

6"x6" oil painting on copper. I've been experimenting with copper again. Many years ago I painted on it and just loved the feel. This time I vertigried it first. I got a wonderful patina, a beautiful green. So this was a different experience painting over the vertigres.Let alot of the blue green show through and the copper. Painting on brass too, get a whole different look with the brass! These little paintings will be mounted on old wood. This piece of wood is from a building burned in a fire. New smalls, 4"x4" oil on canvas. Just packed these up and sent off to the Chambers Gallery! They have little easels to stand on, sweet! That's it for a while, working on some new ideas with metals, very fun!! will post here when done.

4"x4" oil on canvas. These paintings are such fun, really challenging! The other smalls are sold. The Wine Festival was a huge success and very hustly bustly in the Chambers gallery. Friends and family along with cheery customers! Another visit, back in April to do a work shop! I'm looking so forward to going back to Cambria!
